types of wind gusts

Are there names for types of wind gusts?

I know there are names for types of winds, northeaster, zephyr, Tehuentepecer, etc., There is the Beaufort scale, but...

Are there names for types of wind gusts? being sailors I am sure we have all experienced it, some times the wind is gusty (ok most of the time), when gusty; some days the gusts are much stronger then the prevailing wind sometimes not much stronger at all, some days these gusts only last a second or two other days they last much longer.

Eskimos have lots of words for types of snow, surfers have lots of words for surf/waves, are there names to types of gusty winds?

I know a "header" and a "lifter" depending on where they're coming from. Don't know about for different speeds, though.
