I'm back...

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the absense (not that any of you even knew I was gone). It was quite a last few months to be sure. Please excuse the lack of replys to all the PM's, etc. I literally have not had any internet.

I know there are a lot of rumors floating around about what happened. To set the record straight - I refused to skipper the Americas Cup when they wouldn't put a BBQ on board. And if you really must know, I started up a new business... a Sailing School for Moderators. I figured it was the perfect niche. I had a very succesful track record in Maryland and thought I would give the Pacfific NW a shot. Got a new client (we are very confidential, but I will tell you that they called him Laster in the races). Yep... I gave him skills. All that hard work and the Canadian writes me a check, which bounced. Now I can't find him and don't have the money to move the business to Australia (where a bloke really needs some help!!). To make matters worse, some jerk in Texas undercut my prices and promised Big Freaking Sails and my Australian client is buying his lies. Sees himself as the next Crockodile Dunde instead of Sailboat Flunkie.

SO I am back to the day job on Sailnet, where the pay is good and I don't have to put up with any grief.

In all seriousness, if there is anything important, re-PM me. I am staring at 881 PM's, so not sure I can get through them all (or will bother). And as a token of my sincere apologies for absense, everyone can have one free Smack-Attack (except Dog who has used up a lifetime supply).

Brian

"Laster" indeed...... Humpffff....

The reason he can't find me is he doesn't know the difference between Vancouver Canada and the other one in WA state.. My cheque didn't bounce... it was written for $0.00, the exact value of the 'training' received.

I do confess warning a certain Antepodean about this charleton. Clearly HE knows who to trust. (btw I didn't capitalize 'he' for any misguided religious reasons!)

Continue to heed CD's advice on BBQs if you must, but if a navigation question comes up, would you listen to someone who was headed for the Florida Keys and suddenly turns up in the PNW? just sayin'.... (not to mention the Vancouver thing noted above)

OK, welcome back Brian!

Jonesy, he is under the deluded impression that he'd be missed. We don't want to be too hard on the poor chap so we kind of pretend we care.

We also let him pretend that he is a moderator. It pleases him. Simple pleasures for a simple chap.

Brian,

Welcome back..someone told me you were reconointering the the 2011-12 Volvo race and had lost a BBQ grill off the back rail and were in a deep grid search pattern in the Bermuda triangle looking for it.

While you AWOL I took a course in proper typing and spelling on the computer. Hopefully you will see the results (NOT)

Hope all is well and look forward to your posts again

Dave
