I always hear in my head (and sometimes play on the stereo) the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean. I've also been known to play "I'm on a boat" by T-Pain

I'm on the second antenna for our Sirius receiver. Neither one pulls in music consistently.

Usually I like it quiet when docking or getting underway. I don't like the distractions especially when I'm soloing. But once out of the harbor, some tunes really add to the enjoyment.

Regards,
Brad

The best minds discuss sailing (and a little bit of politics). I don't know why. It's a mystery!

The music I hear: Aaron Copeland's "Fanfare for the Common Man."

The music my wife/family no doubt hears: "Theme from Gilligan's Island."

for more than 20 years of sailing.. after the sails are set and the engine turned off, I pop in Buffett's "Boats" cd from the box set. It may be the only Buffett I listen to but that is where I start.

Orinoco Flow by Enya

Let me sail, let me sail, let the Orinoco flow.
Let me reach, let me beach on the shores of Tripoli.
Let me sail, let me sail, let me crash upon your shore.
Let me reach, let me beach far beyond the Yellow Sea.

Sail away,...
From Bissau to Palau in the shade of Avalon.
From Fiji to Tiree and the isles of Ebony.
From Peru to Cebu, feel the power of Babylon.
From Bali to Cali, far beneath the Coral Sea.

Sail away...
From the North to the South, Ebudae unto Khartoum.
From the deep Sea of Clouds to the Island of the Moon.
Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never been.
Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never seen.
We can sail, with the Orinoco flow.
We can sail... sail away...
We can steer, we can near with Rob Dickins at the wheel.
We can sigh, say good-bye Ross and his dependencies.
We can sail away (repeat and fade).

Played on major departures.

Now that is friggin' sweet. I've been trying to figure out way to express that sentiment to my powerboat friends for a long time - and THERE I find it!
