Question Cracking sound?

When I went to do a bottom job, on the way back in the intercoastal...I was inside the markers, but still ran a ground. The chop and wind blew me further on to the shallows. There was about 2 or more foot chop and it was bouncing me up and down on to the sand.

One of these landings made the fiberglass crack. I've seen no visible cracks, it was only a sound....one time.

Anybody else ever hear that?

I tend to think it's nothing, but thought I'd get other opinions. This is a centerboard boat with the board retracting backward into the keel. The board was almost all the way into the keel at the time of the grounding.

Check around the keel on the inside and outside whenever you haul it out. However, are you sure it was the fiberglass? What is the sound of fiberglass cracking? Probably not that.

It may have just been the centerboard hitting the trunk...or it could be the centerboard itself cracking under the impact...or it could be the hull being damaged...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
