Scumbags & Theives...

What is with the world today. Over the last few days I have come across multiple instances of my copyrighted work being used without my permission and in some cases like this one COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF.

I suspect this is just a scam and he's using my work to steal and scam money from unsuspecting buyers..

Recognize this!
http://www.cutlassbearing.net/Replac...s-bearing.html

I hate to charge or make my site membership only but this is getting ridiculous!!!

Please do me a favor and let these scumbags know you'd like them to remove my stolen work from their site. Please use your public (@yahoo, @gmail, @hotmail etc.) email account so the don't start spamming your real email..

Send emails to: cutlassbearing@gmail.com or best@cutlassbearing.net

Please be careful I suspect they are not even a real company. Perhaps some sleuths better than I can find out?

If you have the original work...sue this guy. Send his ISP a takedown notice and say you're the original copyright holder. It takes vigilance...but in this day and age, thats the price you pay for creating an original work.

jrd22 will become famous soon enough
I notice that they have "contact" information, maybe if they hear from enough of us about it they'll get the message?
As far as how to prevent it I can't help you, but hopefully some of the tech savvy guys here will have some suggestions.
I can only imagine how ripped off you must feel.

Well, part of the problem Maine Sail will have is the bastages are located in India. One thing you can do that might help is ban IP addresses. I've done that on my blog to restrict registrations, since most of the spam and such comes from known ranges of IP addresses and known domains.

Here is the WHOIS info for the scumbag's domain, www_cutlassbearing_net:

Quote:
Registrant :
Name: Managing Paartner
Organization: SS Metals
Address: SS Metals,Manjapra
City: Eranakulam
State: Kerala
Postal Code: 683581

Phone: 2690490
Fax: 0
Email: *******@orell.in

Domain servers :

Name Server: ns2.orellwebdesign.com
Name Server: ns1.orellwebdesign.com
I'd pay attention to orellwebdesign.com, since they'd had to be complicit in doing this, and are the contact point for the infringing scumbag's website by the looks of it. They appear to be a sub-division of orell.in, who's WHOIS info is as follows:

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

That is pathetic. I sent them an email telling them that.

By the way, it was nice to meet you this weekend Maine. And thanks for the butyl tape.

MS,

It would probably be a good idea to watermark your graphics/photos/etc.

Also, I don't see a copyright notice on the page in question.

If you don't want to get ripped off, you have to take some basic steps: kinda like locking your car if you leave it on a city street, or not giving a Nigerian "banker" your bank account numbers.
