It's actually alluvial iron deposits that WERE frozen in the Arctic Ice Cap that are causing the problem. While frozen, it moved around a little, but within a specific area (the Arctic Ocean) Now, the iron is falling out of the melting ice and is being spread all over the place by the Humbolt and other currents. Magnetic compasses are going absolutely flooie - they don't know where to point any more. Note that this has NOTHING AT ALL to do with global warming. The retreating ice cap is due to an overpopulation of Polar Bears, whose urine is causing the ice to melt. (You don't think a Bear would soil the water he swims in, do you? ) If we could each shoot five or six dozen bears, we could save the world as we know it.

You are one of those that has neglected to turn your fridge upside down. That's okay. The rest of us are armed and will care for you.

Another reason the Magnetic North pole is moving is because to many "Homeless Polar Bears" have showed up and it don't want to be on the menu.
