registration

Ive got the title to my boat, but didnt receive seperate documentation regarding registration.... the reg number will never change (at least thats what i was told in TX) and the seller (i thought) was doing the re-registration when title transfer occured. do i need seperate documentation for the registration, or did the title transfer take care of that?

Doesn't Texas require you to place an annual sticker on your hull? If you didn't get one, then registration may not have occurred.

Hm...I take it you're getting by on a valid sticker that was already in place when you bought it?

Well, best thing to do is contact whatever agency in your state is responsible for boat registration and ask them who they show the boat registered to. (In Maryland, that's the DNR)

Here's a link. I beleive you have to register it, the old owner can't do that for you.

If you filled out the TXPWD Form 143 that is all you need to do.

Is the title in your name? They don't issue a new reg sticker until the current one expires. Stickers are good for 2 years.

it depends on the state you want to register the boat in,some states don't require a title only a noterized bill of sale
