update

Ok, with getting married last august and getting (and fixing) a house i havent had as much time as planned to work on the boat. But the wife and i got a chance to put in a full day yesterday and did some serious deconstruction on the interior. (I live in Ohio and it was snowing... ) we have decided to do a total refit. I took the mast to a shop last week and will be pulling the a4 next week for a rebuild. Most of the deck hardware came off last summer. The entire deck also needs re-cored. The further I dig into this boat the more impressed i am with the original build quality. For example, the 44 year old brass centerboard winch still works perfectly. I also become more surprised that she didnt sink on the previous owners... the winch fell off after i cut the (frayed) cable.

The atomic 4 is now on an engine stand and i am cleaning it up. I may not do a complete rebuild of it though because it runs nicely right now. I already have a new carb for it and might just clean and paint to get it back in the boat. I will also hopefully have the boat moved to my house so i can work on it more often.
