36 Islander Freeport, Center Cockpit

I just purchased a 1982 36 foot Islander, Center Cockpit. I cannot find any other center cockpits. Does anyone know anything about it. The closest I can find is a Freeport plan A and plan B, both not center cockpits. Any help would be great! THANKS!

I saw some on the yacht trader website. Just the other day. I was looking in the 25-30 ft and 20-30k in the USA. I sorted them by boat length so they should be 28-30 ft long. Great site, tons of pictures. (for those of us that do not read well)

Freeport center cockpit

Yes, a rare boat. Go over to the Yahoo group: FOGger. Much info, how tos and a great group. Also a listing of all known Freeports. May need to add yours. Welcome to the Freeport world fellow Fogger. I have a Freeport 36, not a CC, sv Decision.

As Beachbm said, you have a rare Freeport. It is thought only six or eight were made for a charter business in the Caribbean, but the orders were never delivered as the charter business went out of business. These boats were eventually sold off, and to date the FOGgers only knows of five still sailing. You should join the Yahoo Group called FOGgers FOGgers : Owners and others interested in the care and feeding of Islander Freeport 36-foot and 38-foot sailboats , where you can learn all there is to know about Islander Freeport 36s, 36CCs, and 38Cs. Your new purchase may be listed along with 140 other Freeports in our database, and you might learn more about your particular boat by search the posts on our site.
