Re: Bob Perry's Tragic Loss

Bob Perry just hosted a second annual gathering with boats mooring in front of his place and crews joining in remembering Spike. R.I.P.

Re: Bob Perry's Tragic Loss

Over at Sailing Anarchy a Spike Burgee was created and circulated amongst the Cruising Anarchists. It even made it down under where we sent it off to Tasmania aboard one of the entrants in the 2011 Sydney - Hobart yacht race.

Re: Bob Perry's Tragic Loss

Yes sirreeeesir, we had a really good 2nd Annual Spike Sail In at my beachside shack two weeks ago. We had four boats on moorings in front of the shack and many people drove up or down to attend.

We ate a lot of good food, drank a lot of evil drinks and we played a lot of music well into the night. The shack was fully booked for the night with great friends.

It's a good thing.

Jak:
Thanks. Yes it's a nice axe, a JS 200. Plays like a dream and can shake the walls. It was a gift from a friend after Spike died. He thought it might cheer me up. It did a bit and I play it every day. It's my go to axe along with an Eric Clapton model "parlor" Martin and a 50 year old Guild D-50.

Re: Bob Perry's Tragic Loss

I know prefessional musicians who would be envious of that collection, very nice.

Re: Bob Perry's Tragic Loss

Thanks Jak.
So little time, so many guitars to play.
I also have a Custom PRS that was a gift from Paul Reed Smith. It was actually a barter deal where I drew a boat for him and he made a guitar for me.
