Yes most definitely and people here love them too. Stanley is also a super nice guy to deal with.

I've been involved with one installation and have talked with them at the shows. I am favorably impressed with the motors and the service.

Get back to me in a month. I am replacing an MD11C with a Beta 25. My boat is in Galesville right now waiting for the engine.

The engine may cost a bit more than a similar Yanmar but parts are cheaper.

Stanley is great to deal with.

We replaced the original OMC Saildrive with a Beta Saildrive several years ago and couldn't be happier with either the engine or Stanley.

Keep an eye on Surplus Center. They tend to get a steady stream of NEW Yanmars and Kubotas of various sizes. They are usually not the marinized versions, and often have fixed-rpm governors (i.e. for generator use), but if you are technically savvy you should be able to convert them. Here's an example:

42 HP Kubota 4 Cylinder Diesel

Not too long ago they were selling a new +/-14 hp 2 cylinder Yanmar, for < $1K (around $750, I think).
