Tacktick Mounting Opinions/Questions

Replacing the 2 old Datamarine Speed and Depth w/ T108 Wind and Dual Display Speed/Depth. I like what Sailingdog did by mounting his in a single opening port, but I'd like to consider using the existing cutouts for the new instruments w/o cutting or drilling any new holes.

The 2 TT displays are removable from their mounts so I was considering mounting a deck plate into each of the 2 existing 4" holes and simply securing the TT mounts to those plates. What I'd rather not do, is drill additional wholes around the circumference of the trim ring on the deck plate.

Questions:

1. Will I be able to get the old DM instruments off cleanly?
2. Has anyone seen or had experience with compression deck plates as opposed to through bolt?
3. Will the old speed transducer's thru-hull come off the hull cleanly enough to re-use the hole or is this a bad idea?

I too replaced my old datamarine stuff with Tack Tick. As a temporary solution (someday I will glass it over properly) I covered the old holes with Starboard then attached the Tack Tick mounts to that, plus I made up some mounts for the helm, so I can move them to the helm or bulkhead in the cockpit depending on the need. Both areas get enough light to keep them charged. I thought about using team but the thought of more brightwork changed my mind LOL
