My skills with the toaster are radically improving, according to the crew. The bagels were a crispy light brown, and received high marks with the eggs.
(Last time, things were a bit dark, but I finally relized that removing the pot holders on the stove was easy and made it much easier to use both burners in a calm anchorage.)
One thing we miss-- a friend in Portland, Oregon would surprise us in the morning with fresh cinamon rolls from his stove on his 30 footer. They were just the "pop-n-fresh" type, but they were fun to have with coffee when at anchor in a pretty spot on the Columbia River.
No luck finding them here yet, but we keep coming across Fray Bentos:
(Source: These store-cupboard steak or chicken delights are still worth £20m annually ...)
In theory, Fray Bentos have a shelf life of two world wars, so it's not uncommon to supplement the ballast with these in the UK.
