Psyched up... getting offshore again!

A friend we met cruising who has a Manta 42 cat needs to move it from Deltaville VA to Tampa (to sell). He just decided to do it this coming up week and called me to help him move it. Deltaville to Beaufort NC (without stopping)... pick up one more crew in Beaufort at the gas dock and then sail direct down to Miami. I'm getting off there and he's continuing on to Tampa... should be a fun trip! Weather looks good except for Thursday, but only squalls to 40k then... Should be able to do a beam almost the whole way down once we get offshore.

Hopping in the car at 6am (5 hours from now) to head to VA.

Great trip... arrived at boat in VA on Monday, left on Tuesday, made it as far as Cape Canaveral on Sunday before I had to get off. The boat is now in Tampa. The longest we stopped at any point was for 5 hours... otherwise, straight on through (including some night work on the northern ICW - that kind of sucked). Most of the distance was offshore - from Beaufort to Carolina City, and then Cape Fear to Cape Canaveral. I took a bunch of pictures which I'll put up soon... actually spoke to Camaraderie over the VHF when I passed by Manteo. That was pretty funny. Caught mahi, saw dolphins, whales and flying fish, had great sailing (sailed close to 80% of the trip, including on the ICW), etc.
