RockDAWG goes to Bermuda

After almost 10 days delayed departure, today is the we set sail to Norfolk. O had much work to finish at the office. I can't join my crews. Good thing wifey was willing to take our provision to the boat first block ice and 20 lbs dru ice. I got home this morning after finishing the report. I closed my eyes for an hr. Showered and headed out to Annapolis.

Day 1: we left 9:45 am. The wind was/is 10 to 12 southerly. We are just motoring around at about 5 kn. We wil be going nonstop until we get to Norfolk. We will be doing 4 on with 3 of us.

Got in from Bermuda about 10 days ago. We sat there for a week after arriving from Tortola waiting for a weather window. Every time I'm there this time of year the weather stinks. Hope you have better weather.

Day 1: at 1130 pm. Felt sick because of heavy seas and might be lack of sleep last night. Went below to take a nap , just got up for my watch. Feel much better and the sea was calmer. Doing 5.5 to 6 kn now compared to the 3 hr ago of 3 kn. The capt and other both have more sea miles than me, so I can learn from them. Sailing to Bermuda is all new to us, but I am not worry.

Looks like a southern component to the winds for you for the forseeable future as a Bermuda high is setting up till mid next week at least

Day 2:
Very rough sea last nite. Finished my watch at 2 am. I am so glad that I got some sleep. Woke up at 7 am by captain for my watch.
The sun was up and a bit cloudy. Sea is calm. Wind shifted from south to a bit off to east allowed us some sailing very close haul.

We had s chance to test out the wind vane steerring. It works beautifully. Now we are 3 nm form the first buoy of little creek.

We will get shower, fuel and water. If the weather holds up we may set sail to Bermuda today. If not, we stay overnite.

Either way. Had fun and will have more fun.
