Yeah, its bad - we've got the shade awning up and the AC on and I'm hiding below playing on the computer. I can't sail in July here any more than I can sail in January.

Oops, oh yeah, it's only May. Yikes!

Denise it is going to be a hot week in the Delaware Valley, and maybe another hot summer.

I was on the river Sunday morning, 80's, overcast and just enough breeze to make 2kn, but by 1:00 PM it was to hot to think, even with more wind.

Today I have income generating work, but tomorrow will be a sailing day 90's with afternoon thunderstorms

When I got into my car after trying to sail on the Patuxent, the temperature outside was 101. Mind you, the thermometer dropped to a more sedate 95 after a short drive, but with a pretty much non-existent wind, it wasn't very pleasant out there.

56F here (water temp 46), coldest spring on record. My heart goes out to all of you that are not having to wear: socks, long pants, sweatshirts, fleece, etc :-))
I do understand though, the heat (and humidity) when I go back to visit Dad in NY during the summer just about kills me off.

.... and why can't we all have some kind of 'in between'???? They're finally promising 20/22 for the weekend and some sunshine here.. we'll see if it materializes.

I am on the Sasafrass River and I remember taking a week of vacation last 4 of July weekend. It was so hot I went home and stayed in doors. I do have AC on Boat but whats the point of shutting all ports and sitting below depressed. Anyway my point is maybe I (we) should look for a slip somewhere on NJ or maryland coast. Let Atlantic cool me down? It was in mid 70s along at the shore.

It was 98 in Lewes, DE yesterday and 99 in Severna Park, MD. No relief there. I suggest that you haunt the over priced boating stores for foul weather gear. I scored a set cheap and they paid the AC bill.

I've been anchored in Jackson Creek in Deltaville all weekend waiting to get the boat hauled tomorrow, and it's been so hot the boat heat soaked to the point that you couldn't think about sleeping till 11 or so at night. But I'm not gonna complain too much, I did spend the winter in the Keys & Bahamas!

The nice thing about SF bay area is that it is never too hot or cold and almost always windy. Perfect for sailing but not so much for relaxing out in the cockpit at night. Still too cold for that.

20 to 22? OOOOoooooohhhhh.... right now that sounds like heaven. That's room temp with the A/C running full bore around my house.
