what to do with the sails on the boat

so i'm going to keep the sails on the boat. the question is what to do with them the sailbag i got them in isn't water proof. so should i get a dry bag for main sail and jib or use a tarp for a main sail cover. or just get one dry bag and cram both into it.

A dry bag will mildew your sails if there's any moister on/in them at all. Have a mainsail cover made. I'm sure someone here can steer you toward a good deal, or someone who makes 'standard' covers for a particular boom length. There are plenty of 'How to' boat canvas books around as well if you or a friend is handy with a sewing machine. Compared to the cost of a new main, it's cheap. Same for the jib.
