Puerto Rican boat released by BVI
Turns out that, apparently, one of the persons on the Puerto Rican fishing boat that was seized by the BVI for "illegal fishing" 20 miles offshore, was the ex-governor of Puerto Rico''s daughter. The boat got released with a phone call, fine and charges dropped. The BVI government continues to hold hostage the Black Pearl, seized June 15, because the owner/captain is insufficiently politically connected and won''t pop for the $500,000.00 fine. Tell your charter brokers and charter companies - many of us in the USVI are not doing the weekly trip to Jost, Roadtown, the Willie T - until the greedy little BVI government comes to its senses. In fact, a symbolic "blockade" is in the works for the near future by several dozen U.S. boats. Skip the BVI this year, and let them know why.
