Question Bookstores for sailing books

I will have some down time in New York next week. Can anyone direct me to a Manhattan bookstore specializing in sailing and boating, or recommend a bookstore with a good sailing department?

Any New Yorkers on this list?

I'm not a New Yorker, but my checkbook spent a lot of time there when my son went to school in Manhattan!

The Strand bookstore doesn't specialize in maritime books but it is one of the largest used bookstores in the country. It's worth a visit if you love books.

Strand Book Store: New, Used, Rare and Out-of-Print Books

Another interesting store is Argosy Books. They have a large collection of antique books and maps.

Thanks

Thanks, Bill. I have left a lot of green in the Strand but I never wandered into a boating section so I will try it out. Argosy is new to me, also a good tip. Thanks again.

You might check the Web site of a publisher that specializes in sailing books, like Sheridan House

Cool Re: Bookstores for sailing books

Here's something a little different for you. Instead of buying another slanted boring newspaper, why not spend .99 cents on this. You can read it over breakfast or lunch, by the pool or in a tree. It's a short book about a wild sailing adventure I took back in 1986. The story starts in St. Thomas Vi and ends in ???

I think you will enjoy it!

It's only .99 cents on Amazon kindle.

Amazon.com: Amazon.com: "The Voyage of the Lima" eBook: S.J. Alexander: Kindle Store

Love this site..
