Chrysler 22 Sailboat - possible purchase and best "how to" sail book?

Guys my husband and I now are looking at a Chrysler 22 - possibly can get it for 1500, with motor and great shape just needs a few lines/rigging items we think. What are opinions on this boat and this boat for beginners?

Also can anyone recommend a good sailing how to book and something that has good references?
I saw a recommendation for "Sailing for dummies" is this a good one? If so which edition?

Can recommend Seidman, The Complete Sailor.

I've owned a 22 for the last four years. They are good to windward and ruggedly built. They'll take any blow in stride.

I highly recommend, but I can't wait to move up to the 26.
