Type of glue

Hitting all the forums to get an answer.

My wooden spreader broke and can be repaired.

I need a very strong and waterproof glue for the fix.

Since DAP-WELDWOOD MARINE RESORCINAL GLUE has been discontinued,
what would be the best available replacement?

Two stage epoxy bonding. Wet-out the surfaces with unthickened epoxy, then soon after put a coat of thickened epoxy on one side, and clamp together. The trick is to get the epoxy to soak into the wood as much as possible. The epoxy will be stronger than the wood, which doesn't help much if it doesn't bond to the wood.
