I got the 5 horn blast salute from a 100'+ motor yacht down in Annapolis harbor a few weeks ago. The commercial vessels give better horn.

Then again there is probably a regulation stating that you cannot make your horn sound like a 1,000 ton freighter if it is a 41' sailboat. There are regulations for everything after all.
Said regulation is in the back of the Rules of the Road book, Appendix 1, I believe. It does give the different tones for each size vessel... With the ultra large vessels having the lowest tones.

Kill joy - even though I knew there were regulations about this.
The big boys get the horns with muchos cojones. The rest of us not so much.
Cruise ships and bigger boats have great horn sounds.
This gives me an idea for making a song with sampled ships horn sounds.
