Do I have a Problem?
The starboard winch on my boat has been replaced at some point with a what looks to be a teak type of anchoring thru-hull that the winch attaches to. On the outside of the boat, around the base of the winch, is a 1-2" series of cracks that look like they could be either stress cracks or crazing. However, on the inside of the boat there are some deep stress cracks around the teak part of the winches base.
What do you think this is and what repairs do you think may be necessary?
I really hope I do not have to take out everything and grind out fill cracks then rebed with an aluminum or other metal type of plate. Here are pictures:
