Seafevers first race

I new it was going to be a slow day when we started in 3 knots as with 135 roller jib and hood stoboom main its NOT a light air machine

In the spirt of lets make the best of this and have fun we worked on doing the 34 miles in under 8 hours and just made it

Fun was had by all and the boat is now officially a 4-1/4 knot light air *box

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

Happy for you. I was in a race sunday too, crewing on a Friendship Sloop. We had incomplete course info and missed a mark. We were ahead of several boats at the time, two of them owed us. The skipper was a good sport, we turned back (1/2 mile?), rounded the mark, now last, and continued. With careful sailing and some luck, we managed to pass the other Friendship, at least recovering some dignity. It was a good sail in good company.
