My bicycle will go faster than 99% of the powerboats that I've been on. If you want to get somewhere fast, boating isn't the answer. I find the idea that a power boat is fast to be funny.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

your budget is 3k? or you will have double that amount? (selling 2 boats).

where are you located and where do wish to go?

you can't be in a hurry if you want to sail... in sailing its more about getting there.

in a powerboat its more about what you do once you get there.

its also more work to sail, but you typically get more for your money. especially when you start looking at boats over 30 feet.

you can get a lot of sailboat for 30k.

then there are the powersailers, like the new macgregor M (can plane in good conditions avg ~14knts )

Two bulls are sitting on top of a hill looking down at herd of female cows. The young bull says to the older bull " Lets run down and see how many cows we can have before we get tired ". The older bull replies " Lets walk down save our energy and have them all ".
