I sail into my slip all the time. Its ez with the jib only, but when you have a lot of freeboard and ad some crosswind you can really get into trouble. Any time something damages my boat I make repairs and then do more so I'll feel better about it. Bottom line is DONT do anything that jeopordises other peoples property! A good sailor has a long shaft backup if its inboard and a mincota if your outboard. I wish I was near you we'd bang that sucker out and then go to work on the boat! LOL!
