What little I could see on the web regarding its shoal keel and other features, would suggest that it would be fine for this purpose. I wouldn't know what a good deal on one would be, or what kinds of things to scope out before purchasing, however. But, as I said, it seems to have the right kind of keel for gunkholing, and it's a solid brand.
