ID of older sailing dinghy_please help

OK, I'd like to ID this old sailing dinghy type. Here's what I know about it:

Canadian built
Probably designed in the 1920s-30s
14-16 feet
Hull rib and strake construction, no deck, just open
Single mainsail, gaff rig

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, no pics exist. This is mainly a family memory question. The boat in question hasn't existed for over 30 years (rotted, then burnt up as a bonfire)

That would be tough. Some one over there might have an idea, though that's a pretty general description. No old albums or boxes of photos to search?
