First, welcome to BC. I'm sure that you and your family will enjoy, and discover many beautiful places that can only be visited by boat.

When it comes to reading, try:
  • Waggoner Cruising Guide - for passage planning. Updated annually.
  • Peter Vassilopoulos' books - particularly anchorages and marine parks; and docks and destinations. He also wrote an excellent book on cruising North of Desolation Sound, but you may want to acquire some experience first.
  • Magazines - Pacific Yachting - Vancouver based; 48 North - Seattle-based. Distributed for free, monthly to most Vancouver marine stores and marinas.
