What boat is this?

Hi everybody,

A friend recently got a free sailboat and asked for my help in identifying it and getting it into sailable condition. Sadly, there are almost no markings on the thing and I'm not especially knowledgeable about single person sailboats. I'm hoping the collective wisdom of Sailnet can give me a little assistance.

The proportions of the hull, the rig type and the entire rudder assembly initially led me to believe the boat is an Alcort Sailfish. There are a couple differences, though, between my friend's boat and pictures I have seen of Sailfish. First, the mast is stepped much further forward on my friend's boat. It appears to be 3' from the bow on the Sailfish but about 6" on my friend's boat. Second, the deck of the Sailfish is, aside from a teardrop-shaped bump around the mast hole, entirely flat. My friend's boat has a weird curved area on the bow, presumably for reducing the chance that water runs backwards to the crew area.

Are there other boats, similar to my friend's boat, that I should investigate to see if the match is better? Thanks in advance.
