cal 2-29
So, the first thing you did was replace the Farymann?? Didn''t like having your teeth vibrated out of your head, I suppose. In flat water, I would guess the F-mann''s 10 HP would be adequate with only a horse or two for reserve. With your big 28 HP you would need to re-prop to keep the Volvo at 60-75% of max rated output to keep from loading up. Or add a bunch of accessories like high output alternators and refrigeration.
As far as Cal parts, the sailnet Cal list maintains an ftp site with a handy list of vendors for such things as ports and rubrails. These boats are old enough that most parts come from the OEM''s still in business (stove parts, head rebuilds kits etc). I just finished a complete rebuild of the Cal 2-27 and developed a pretty good list of sources. Let me know what you need and I probably have a source (except the Volvo, I stuck with a Farymann distributor rebuild on the Farymann).
