Is this boat good to learn to sail on? Link to pics

The seller is asking 3K, it comes with all sails and 4 stroke Nissan outboard.

Is this too much boat, also does it make a good cruiser?

That looks like a nice boat for a performance-oriented sailor, but not really so much a cruiser.

Of course, people need more information about (a) what the boat is and (b) what the prospective buyer wants to do with it, before anyone could answer the question very accurately.

Definitely a race bred boat... depends on how quickly you wanna get involved with sail tweaking... It'll likely take off nicely in a light wind.

Not a cruiser at all, i second rgscpat on that.

So if a person is just looking to cruise around the lake with their Wife a Catalina 22 would be better suited...

I'm not looking to race, just something to cruise in.

This is definitely a racing oriented design.. not badly tricked out, either... but yes, for couple cruising around a lake, no racing in mind, a Catalina 22 or something similar would be a better bet. Especially if any overnight weekend trips were contemplated.

That's "a lot of fun boat" for 3K but it's likely fairly skittish now and then too. Looks like another old IOR quarter tonner..
