overnight trip out of liberty landing this weekend

This is last minute I know but... I was thinking to take an overnight trip out of my marina with some friends this weekend. The weather might suck but we are aware of that. I was thinking to just head down to atlantic highlands and overnight there, maybe grabbing some beers locally before sleeping on the boat and returning the next day. Any recommendations as to where to tie up my hunter 25, where to eat, where to anchor, etc? I have a dinghy fyi...

Is there a better overnight destination from liberty landing, maybe south side of li?

You can anchor inside the seawall at Atlantic Highlands to the east of the marina or get a slip at the marina.

or, they have mooring balls...and a launch service..if that hasn't ended yet?

Don't know if you would consider going up the East River
with the weather tomorrow...think the tide/current should be favorable. From the Battery with the current giving a big push it will take about 2 plus hours to get to Manhasset Bay... sea side/walking distance restaurants/bars and free town moorings (yellow near town dock) in Port Washington.
Good weekend destination...but watch
weather...would be mostly motoring until north of Triborough bridge.
Also City Island, slightly closer...lot going on.
