agree with all the above. I sail a seafarer 22 on south cape waters around martha's vineyard and as far west as sag harbor (in stages). SW winds can be brisk in afternoon, but with proper sail trim the seafarer is very seaworthy. as usual, monitor the weather carefully. welcome to some of the best coastal sailing around.

The Seafarer 26 was apparently one of the more popular models in the fleet. I've been a Seafarer 29 owner for 11 years and have been a member of every Seafarer group on the internet and don't recall anyone commenting about a capsize/stability issue. For additional references:
1) There is a Seafarer group on Sailnet. Suggest that you pose the question here - Seafarer - SailNet Community
2) is a great site for research on any boat - SEAFARER 26 sailboat on - according to this website the displacement is 5,200 pounds. I think the model years makes some difference as Seafarers were modified and improved over time.
3) There is a very active Seafarer's Yacht group on Facebook with over 115 members. Not sure how many are S26 owners, but I believe the best way to find out about this boat's history is to hear from actual owners. Log In | Facebook
