Oz? Isn't that, um, a nation with mines and industry and ways of, ah, existing without being dependent on the tourist trade?

Unlike a lot of Caribbean island states, where the tourist trade quite literally IS the 800# gorilla?

I'm all for "chacun a son gout" and our own Congress has no exclusive lock on doing all the wrong things because delusional people are in charge of things. But rabies is about as likely as a zombie invasion in some of these places. And the US CDC honestly DOES have a Zombie Apocalypse Alert available:

CDC EPR | Social Media | Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse - Blog

See? Bigger danger than rabies, and the Islands haven't caught on yet at all.

All I can say is if my dog had rabies when I left the US the mos. it would take to sail to these countries, the dog and the rest of us on the boat would be died. The rabies titre would insure that the dog could NOT carry or have rabies. That being said can anyone tell me if they took this trip with a dog and what countries they went to?

Do dogs like being on boats?

I know, it depends on the dog and the boat, but generally speaking, it seems like all but the hugest sailboat would be sorta confining for a dog.

groggy, a greyhound or snippet would never be comfortable without a huge deck to run around. But some huge dogs like Mastiffs and Newfoundlands are quite happy to snuggle down in a small place.

Please reread my post, I asked if anyone had any info on sailing the Caribbean with a pet. I did not say anything about changing rules. I must say that if my dog had Rabies we would all be died by the time we got there.
