Marine SSB Frequencies

Is this link correct for SSB Frequencies?
YachtCom - Marine SSB radio | MF frequencies | HF frequencies | SSB Channels | Coastguards frequencies
In an emergency, what is the best way to use a Marine SSB to send may day and contact coast guard? Freq 2182 is an emergency freq but in the day your VHF probably has more range and at night, the range may be only several hundred miles.

Anyone have experience with best way to use a Marine SSB? Do commercial ships even monitor SSB now?
