Gooseberry Island, Rhode Island

Hi,

There was a brief mention in Cruising World about an anchorage at Gooseberry Island (just south of Newport). blurb mentioned that entering anchorage is dicey. has anyone actually anchored at Gooseberry Island? online charts indicate shoals and numerous rocks.

I am not aware of any anchorages next to Gooseberry Island sailed by there many times. You can go up the Westport river and get a mooring though.
