Cruising hazard - cannibalism

Fears of cannibalism were raised after a German world cruiser failed to return from a hunting trip in Nuku Hiva French Polynesia. His guide had returned, tied up and abused the man's partner, and body parts were found in a campfire.

Wow! That sounds like something straight from a Michael Crichton Book.

In Practical Seamanship Steve Dashew calls Nuku Hiva the most beautiful anchorage in the world.

AdamLein will become famous soon enough
Bones in a fire are not evidence of cannibalism. Bones in bowls and bones with toothmarks are evidence of cannibalism. Bones in a fire are evidence that somebody thinks there's no way to identify a body once you burn it.

Without further evidence, the cannibalism suggestion is borderline racist.

Suggesting that cannibals would eat from bowls and not plates is also borderline racist. But otherwise, I think you're on the right track.

After reading the article, I think the guide just probably killed him, hacked him up and tried to burn him up. The guide did go back and chain the girlfriend to a tree and molested her.
