still sailing and still posting
the slug is back on the north coast of Norfolk - I had really wanted to film the 12m sharpies they sail there - and also in Oz - our are nicer though as you blokes just had to make them out of plastic, increase the sail area and put a trapeze and spinnaker on the things - big sigh - simmer down you lads
We had a wonderful Indian summer here during the last week of september - absolutely astonishing
so what am I going to do -
make films or go sailing while the sun shines?
my plans are to head up to the Humber for the winter where I have been offered a mud berth for £10 a month.
I am planning to take the ninland route through Boston and Lincoln as we are fast running out of daylength here
I will do the outside route in the march just so no-one can accuse me of cheating on the journey.
the beast is now behaving impeccably (still stuck in fwds gear of course) now that I have the little Honda on board - the 2.3 shoves the slug along at 4 knots - but man it is annoying so I don't use it - just kleep it on board as a way of threatening the beast.
The whole winter on the Humber thing qwas looking very dodgy until last week
I had clean run out of money (BBC cuts costs by 20 per cent and Jill is a teacher so they have started the big cull of supply contracts and training courses). Thenin one week I managed to sell my starlings footage three times
starlings on Otmoor - YouTube
and got a commission to fim some seascapes from this bloke
Antony Gormley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
it is an art installation - so now I am an artist as well as a cameraman
but suddenly I had enough KTL cash flow for the petrol for the winter sailing
I filled the polo up the other day £60 - that is enough for a whole family of £10 poms and enough left over to buy a sheep station at the end.
However.
I have also been a bit busy trying to finish the DVD about the Norfolk Broads in time for Christmas.
and finally a website about rodeo horses - which I am sad to say - hut also happy to say - is getting around five times the hits as KTL -
Nora - 300 films of people riding horses around in circles
whereas persuading sailors to watch my carefully crafted travelogues about sailing....
but posting films abhout horses and getting money from the adverts posted close to them is money for old rope
If you like horses
anyway if you blokes want to an old bloke riding a horse
here I am
22 Mack n me « If you like horses
So, my liittle post menaopausal journey around the UK continues
the slug continues to slowly fall apart around me
but I am having the time of my life.
I did put the last film up as a postage stamp sized film just to see if people would watch it that small
200 people so far in the first 12 hours
people are so prepared to suffer for my art as long as it does not cost them anything
Dylan
PS Pennyless are very, very good, they come from Lincolnshire so it is great local music and a few of the KTL subscribers have expressed their long distance hots the violinist
Pennyless Music
Penny now has a burgeoning antipodean fan club
