None if by land, $5.50 if by sea (or air)

U.S. reviving $5.50 tariff on Canadian travellers - Canada - CBC News

Gonna be a bit of a pain in the backside.

I am not sure it applies to arrival by sailboat as opposed to cruise liner.

It's that redistribution of wealth thing. You see, the value of Canadian currency has gone up so we need to redistribute the difference.

If the majority of Canadians got their way, Canada would become part of the United States then they wouldn't have to pay the $5.50.

I peed myself a little on this one.

Jack, I already did that when I worked at a sawmill that paid buckets in duties that were never returned.

I think it was a joke Jack.... there's enough people that would balk at the mere mention of "Zero Tolerance" to kill the idea in it's tracks.

Well the Canadian cousins that live in GTA (aka the golden crescent) have another option. Drive to Buffalo International or Niagara Falls International and fly south from there. Local Hotels will keep your car free, air fares are cheaper, no tax on the bridge (in fact no toll coming this way), and less congestion and hassle than Pearson.
Or you could take the Niagara Airbus Limo, then no hassle at all.
Screw the Guvvment, you all are welcome Cousin.
(As for their wanting to join the breakaway colonies, they settled that 200 yrs ago this month. Stoopid Yanks got their arse kicked).
Just sayin...
