Bought a Catalina 25 in Texas

Hey All,

Just bought a 1989 Catalina 25' wing keel. Boat is in Corpus Christi & will get it moved from the po's house to a dry storage on its trailer next week. Will pull the mast, inspect, & if need be replace the standing rigging and anything else at the top that needs it. Boat has an 'old' 8hp suzuiki ob. Will replace that if need be as well. Boat seems to be in good shape and is light on systems. It does have roller furling with original sails. Will be on here from time to time as I find out the questions to ask as they pop up.

Thanks,
Jim

Sailormon6 will become famous soon enough
Jim, congrats on buying the C25. I sailed one for many years, and loved it. Log onto the the C25 National Association's website at the following address. The members there have a huge store of knowledge about maintaining, repairing, rigging and sailing a C25, and are enormously helpful.

Welcome! I'd second the Catalina Association web site referenced above. The people there are great, and tolerate stupid questions (I've asked more than my fair share) very well.

Bring it on C-25 owners!

I have a C-25 and I absolutely love it, and yes the Catalina Association Forum is a terrific resource for all things Catalina 25.

Thumbs up

I’ll be glad to add my name to the roll call. We have owned and loved our 79 swinger for 20 years.

Congratulations and I second the Catalina International association. I also suggest you visit Catalina Direct as they provide excellent service. We bought our Catalina 25 about 6 weeks ago finally got in the water after a month at home getting some TLC stuff done. Have taken it out twice and so far so good. I am not an experienced sailor and this boat seems easy to handle.
