Canadian Prairie Schooners?
In Good Old Boat Magazine, issue 81 the latest one out, on pg 29 I believe there is an excellent picture of the true prairie schooner that cross the great plains of the North American contenent. 
Anyway first look at the picture will give you that illustion.
The article is good and does gives you what sailors had to do before there were marine railways or lifts.
Wonder how many other pictures of boats out there that can be construed as some other 'tongue in cheek' event?
