Holmatro winches

Has anyone used these winches, they have been around for a few years. WM also sells them,

Haven't used them on a boat. BUT, saw the rep at KWRW two years ago and said "so, how easy are they to strip?" He let me strip one right there. I was impressed.

AND the boat I race on was given a HOLMATRO winch handle to try out. Has the quick release handle like the Lewmar but I like it better b/c the nut that you put into the top of the winch is slightly tapered so it goes in smoother/easier.

I'd try them.

Yes the assembly/disassembly that is on line looks impressive. Can't seem to find a installation manual or owners manual yet. Be nice to touch one or better yet someone who has one before purchasing. I guess Holmatro bought out Meissner which was supposed to be a big winch manufacturer - not so much here in North America though.

I don't have any experience with their winches, but I've used their rescue tools at work. Very high quality machining and awesome durability, hopefully passed on to their marine division.
