I am getting a bit nervous not hearing how you guys came through the wrath of Isabel. I just saw on the 7:00 o''clock news that there are half a million of you still with out power. Hope you get the power back and find time, with all the aftermath work you have to do, to let us know how you made out.

Hello

Thank you everyone for the notes and emails, we here do appreciate your kindness.

My home and boat are fine. I hauled Invictus and she had no problems. Unfortunately, my marina HHN took heavy damage. Four docks were destroyed outright and the fifth...MY dock may have to be condemned. If so, the marina may not put me back in the water. I am very dissapointed at this prospect, as I had intended to sail year round this year.

I am trying to find other accomodations, however temporary. Even a mooring would be great.

My best to all.

John

Back Creek in Annapolis came thru almost unscathed, after the 8 feet of tidal surge dropped. We stayed aboard tied up in an oversize slip and didn''t get a scratch! John, don''t know how big your boat is, but I think Port Annapolis Marina and Burt Jabins both have slips (flip side of your story; people who hauled for the storm and intend to stay out till spring).

We came through quite well. I had four boats to tend and they came through without damage. The house and docks came through without damage as well. On the other hand we lost somewhere between 10 and 12 trees in the woods at the upper portions of our property. It looks like a small tornado went through as the trees are in a line and My neighbor lost trees on roughly the same line. I consider myself very lucky. As I looked about the creek, there were a number of docks destroyed and boats sunk. One is up in the trees, and another is sitting on top of the dock it was tied to. We were without power until sunday afternoon and without phones until late monday.

Thank you for asking.
Regards
Jeff

I had a Catalina 22 on D-Dock at Bert Jabin''s Yacht Yard in Back Creek. I dropped the mast in the slip and motored it over to Truxton Park and hauled it out. I have a Catalina 350 on G-Dock at Jabin''s and it came through fine, as did all the other boats around me, most of which are chartered through Annapolis Bay Charters. Only "damage" I had was stains in the cockpit from wet leaves that blew into the boat.

I highly recommend slips on E, F, and G docks at Jabin''s. They are way back in Back Creek and have great protection from the wind.

Hi everyone - good news! My marina was able to find me a slip and I am going back in the drink next week! Needless to say, I am very happy at this news. I will be doing some touch up work on the hull and running gear this weekend. Whew!

Thanks for all the best wishes.

John
