Vinyl Graphics on hull
Seeing the Volvo racers w/ their cool graphics and knowing a little about "wrapping" vehicles, I got to thinking. Since I sail on the MUDDY Chesapeake Bay and white hulled boats end up w/ an unsightly brown smear on the bow, what if we "wrapped the front third of the boat topsides in either a clear vinyl or even a graphic? I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap, but it might keep the boat looking a whole lot better and cut down on the waxing/buffing cycyle. Just curious.

I just had my boats made with "mustache" colored hull gel coat.

Or hire a starving artist (or drunk college student) to do a master work on your boat.

Not sure about about the clear idea, but lots of the Professional Fishing Teams and Racing Go Fast Boats are completely wrapped.

Why couldn't you do a sail boat in a complete wrap? Seems like it would be fine.

I really like the idea of a hull wrap on a sailboat. The graphics are pretty cool looking. Anyone know where they can be found online or these custom?

Yeah, I don't want something gaudy like that. What I AM wondering about is putting a layer of clear vinyl on the bow area to keep it from getting gross from the muddy water.

It wouldn't have to be clear, just match the hull color. Or could easily change the hull color that way.
