Well, one of the silver linings of the state of the economy these days is that I have a lot of dead time anyway. I enjoy making money but I enjoy just making things work too.
So I have found it possible to give away time once in a while to long-time customer/friends because they are giving me some work and I sit around enough anyway. (Often here on Sailnet)
This particular customer is a young lady who has been cruising for the last ten years or so. We rerigged her Pearson before she started.

Really I think it's good for business in the long run. The attitude that service and customer relations is as important as making money is, I believe, the main reason that I've been able to hold on. Though just barely. That and the fact that we keep our expenses down.
