Still dreaming

What can i say.
My house is on the market, i have a boat in my sight.
Unfortunately current economic conditions put stop on my purchase. House market slow down, prices drop and honestly, i cannot control my patience.
All i want is to sell my house, buy my boat and get away from work, politics and other selfish people.
All this thanks to the bloody euro.
Not happy. I hope that i can get my boat soon, before my retirement, so i can enjoy life.

I could not agree more, and doesn't it just blow that a little money is all that stands in the way (probably the biggest hurdle for most)? We've also got two dogs, but we love them... Although we threaten to barbeque the younger heeler when she starts annoying the neighbors with the incessant barking at the wind! It'll happen-- just gotta be patient and the right time will roll around (repeat after me).. That's life!

I find working in the right direction,(like preparing lists , reading books , taking classes, or other wise working towards my goal makes the wait a lot easier! Spending a little cash on small related things , clothing,or whatever helps me keep my sanity-Hand in there, good things come to thou's who wait!-- Dale

It'll happen Minga. Hang in there.
I am stuck for at least another year so I plot, plan, read etc etc - what about? The next trip of course.

At least where you are there would be plenty of yachts for sale so you can go and so some tire kicking - aka working out what would suit you best.

I am slowly preparing while waiting to sell my house. Got some chart navigation software ( practice on my iPad) some navigation books to study and took sayling classes in Melbourne.
I hope that soon someone will look my house so I can be free.

You won't actually be free, but will obatain another kind of burden. Hopefully it will be one you will enjoy. You will have more freedom to move about if you don't like your neighbor is true. The lawn mowing will be replaced by other items of maintance. There will still be leaking faucets, painting, and the list go on. SAILING isn't always a slick magazine cover. I do much prefer it over living in a house though. BEST WISHES in your dreams becoming a pleasant reality........i2f

Yes I know that there will be work on boat.
Beying free for me is :
- no annoying work relations ( you know, one of the - my d...k is bigger then yours and I pee further). No more of that.
- no stupid council rates rises for blowing our money away and justify they jobs.
- no traffic jams and frustration with money rising secret traffic cameras ( mind you I did not have speeding tickets ever yet).
- no any other regulations on the nana state rules and regulations ( you cannot do this and that and do what you been told by us).
Each time I look at the idiot box ( TV ) and watching travel program, I am asking my self : why I am not there ?
I know that there is work to be done maintaining yacht and this is fine for me ( diesel fitter by trade and handy man at home) and I know that I can do this. Just hope that it want be to late for me to enjoy sailing and see so many wanders with out rushing because there is no time ( as the holiday is short and we have to come back to work).
It will happen, I will sell my house and get some nice boat. If you wish long enough and hard enough, it will happen
