Oh Dude! I feel for you. I will have to give Laura a big hug and kiss when she gets back from her swim.

Our first sail of more than a few hours together was 107 nautical miles from Ala Wai boat harbor on Oahu to Nawiliwili on Kauai. We got knocked down in a squall at night on the way to Hanalei and ran out of fuel on the way back. The return trip took 3 days and we ran aground in in the harbor entrance. Laura later published a photo essay(pdf) of the trip. BTW she had never been on a sailboat before we met.

She now has more sea time than I do having sailed on to Fiji in HMBark Endeavour after our three honeymoon sailing from Vancouver to Kona and delivered the schooner Spike Africa from San Diego to Kauai (Producing another article with photos(pdf) Of course this was long before we started producing videos.
