38 wonderful feet.. I cant quit the job and would most likely truck it. Planing on living on her for five or so years then Im going to be gone. The DR is call my name. A year to pay for it and four to save as much cash as I can. I did the truck driver thing for 15 years.

Sounds like you have a plan. Use it as your guide and allow for contingencies, and the unknown x factor -- as best as you.

Good luck.

Motoring a sailboat for a month is not my idea of fun. It is certainly not my idea of how to use my vacation aboard. YMMV.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

a couple of years ago i had my boat in south carolina but live in e-tenn.i could have had it hauled for about $1000[its a 8 hr road trip]but i opted to bring it myself by water via ga.,fla.and up the tombigbee then the tenn. river,3 months and $4000 later i arrived,i don't regret it for a moment but to be honest e-tenn is really no place for a sailboat,oh i enjoy spending a day or two over nighting in some secluded cove but theres really no place to go or even bother putting the rags up,if theres storms predicted i take her out just to break the boredom
