Share your favorite youtube sailing vids

I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite youtube videos and I invite others to do the same. Please feel free to provide your own mini-review of each video too...

Here's a FEW of mine

Volvo Ocean Race - To The Ends of The Earth - The First 40 Years - YouTube
I like this 52 minute video about the volvo ocean race because it starts with cruiser's drinking and playing cards to the high-tech athletes that dominate today. The transformation of boats and crews is amazing. Also the cultural shift about women sailors was both shocking and good to see for someone who grew up after that time in sailing history.

this is yacht racing - YouTube
Lots of action shots in this film and the music fits the video. (3 min)

Vendee Globe - round-the-world single-handed yacht race - YouTube
A race that seems impossible to me, but someone has to do it. This is a 10 minute film which is an overview of the challenges and some shots from the racers involved.

Rough Weather Sailing - BT Global Challenge 2000 - YouTube
A little dated, but the weather shots are pretty wild. 38 knots through the water, yikes. (4min)

Stormy weather - YouTube
A cruising yacht wallowing in the waves. The video is sickening to watch, but the comments are even more mind blowing. (45 seconds)

Don't show her these ones! LOL!

The first clip of the sailboat rollover has a better clip with an explanation of the rescue and the other rescue boat not shown here was also capsized and they had to be rescued. Enjoy.

Southern Straits 2010

Not for the faint of heart.

Will a displacement boat plane?

I was asked to crew in this race but I had to turn it down.
